I foolishly had a bet on Sheffield United to beat Forest the other night. Odds were 1.57. Sheffield United are on top form and could have made it in to the automatic promotion places with a win. All started well with Forest getting a man sent off after 15 minutes or so but Sheff U could not score. Game ended 0-0.
I will start again next month.
Liverpool left it late to beat Fulham. I wasn’t too worried as I laid Fulham so I would have won if it stayed 0-0 anyway. Good start to the campaign. Bank at £58.19.
Looking at the fixture list there many opportunities this week. All the big 4 are all at odds on. Looking at the odds, I do like Liverpool to beat Blackburn. The way I see it is that Liverpool are out of the Champions League and the League is now their only chance of Silverware. Price on betfair was 1.38. £58.19 staked. Profit if this comes in is £21.01.
If this comes in I think I will stick the lot on Spurs. The other 3 of the big 4 should win but Champions League fixtures make them a little tricky.
As I’ll be doing a lot of laying I need to find a quick way of working out what to put in the ‘backer’s stake’ box.
Its a pretty simple calculation. You take the lay price, subtract 1 and then divide your stake by this number.
So for attempt 1, bet 1, I wanted to risk £50 on Fulham. Price to lay was 6.8. Subtract 1, gives 5.8. £50 divided by 5.8 is £8.62. That’s how I go the lay stake.
To kick off this challenge I am going to lay Fulham to beat Liverpool.
Fulham beat Manchester United last Premiership game. I can’t see them being able to pull off the same performance again. Liverpool are the in form team. After hammering Real Madrid they go on and beat Man U 4-1 and Villa 5-0. No mug teams in that run in.
Price for Fulham to lay is 6.8. All £50 on this so £8.62 to lay for. Profit will be £8.19 after commission if this comes in. Effective odds is 1.16. I wouldn’t normally dream of backing such a short price but the system requires me to find no hopers.
